Hi! Today I’m
going to talk about one of my favorite movies, The Hunger Games.
Panem is a
country with an authoritarian government. It is divided into 12 districts that
give their resources to the Capitol. 74 years ago, districts rebelled but
failed. As punishment, every year 1 boy and a girl from each district are sent
to an arena until only one remains. This event is called The Hunger Games.
Katniss is a girl from district 12, and she has
16 years old. She lives with her sister and her mother. Katniss volunteers
instead of her sister to go to the Games. District 12 has only had 1 female
winner in all of history, but Katniss is determined to change that at any cost.
In the
games she will have to face many difficulties: young experienced killers from
District 1 and 2, pretending someone who is not to gain popularity, survive
hunger, cold, animals, poisonous herbs, etc.
I love that
this movie has many themes, for example, politics, hunger, poverty, survival,
economy, justice, punishment, empathy, hope, teamwork, war, love, adolescence,
etc. All these issues are things that we can see today, and that generate a lot
of discussion in the population.
It is a very good movie and it deals with as many topics as you say it gives me a super complete movie, but the third ones were not what I expected
